Makeup by Gowree

Case Study

I created a new brand identity, website and supporting materials for luxury bridal makeup artist Gowree, helping her present the quality of her service and connect with clients looking for a personalised, high-end experience.

Brand Identity

Moving from a casual look to a luxury bridal identity

Gowree’s previous handwritten logo felt friendly and informal, but it didn’t communicate the luxury bridal service she wanted to be known for. I developed a new identity around a serif logo with generous letter spacing, giving her name a more timeless presence.

Rich golds and creams brought warmth to the identity and kept it connected to the bridal setting. I paired elegant serif headings with a modern sans-serif font for readable supporting text, balancing character with everyday practicality.

I created primary, secondary and icon logos, then brought the colours, typography and logo variations together in a brand guidelines document. This gave Gowree a consistent foundation for her website and printed materials, with clear guidance she could share with anyone using her branding.

Website Design and Development

Showing the quality behind the service

Gowree’s existing website had generated enquiries, but it didn’t fully reflect the quality of her work or the experience she offered. She wanted a website that communicated luxury more clearly and helped prospective clients understand the value of her service before getting in touch.

I designed and built the new website around her updated identity, bringing her photography, services and personality into a consistent presentation. Gowree supplied the images and most of the copy; I refined the wording for the web while keeping her voice.

The Approach

Making a varied service easy to explore

Bridal makeup sits at the centre of Gowree’s business, alongside Asian bridal and LGBTQ+ packages, destination weddings, saree draping, event makeup and lessons. I planned the information around that bridal focus while giving visitors clear routes to explore the other services.

Her portfolio needed similar care. I separated the galleries by makeup style so visitors could explore looks such as snatchural and soft glam without working through one large collection. Links between the galleries make it easy to compare styles and find a direction that feels right.

Gowree also needs detailed information from prospective clients. I organised the enquiry form into short steps with grouped questions, allowing visitors to complete a few fields at a time. This makes the process more manageable while helping Gowree gather the information she needs to respond.

Design and Usability

Space for the photography, clarity for the visitor

I used spacious layouts to give the photography and content room to breathe, with soft fade transitions that complement the calm, luxury feel. The website adapts to desktop, tablet and mobile screens, so visitors can explore Gowree’s work and make an enquiry across devices.

The warm colour palette needed careful contrast choices, alongside readable fonts. I also balanced image compression with visual quality to reduce file sizes without losing the detail visitors need to appreciate her makeup. Where Gowree supplied photographs taken by wedding photographers, I included their credits and links.

Makeup style galleries

I organised the portfolio by style, with links between galleries to help visitors compare looks.

Enquiries with steps

I grouped the enquiry questions into short stages, making a detailed form more manageable to complete.

Photography with care

I optimised image files to balance loading speed with the detail needed to showcase Gowree’s work.

The Outcome

Delivery and feedback

The finished project gives Gowree a consistent way to present her business, from discovering her work online to preparing for a makeup trial. She felt the website captured the luxury she wanted to communicate, and has since told me that she is receiving more enquiries than ever, including more website enquiries from clients seeking a high-quality bridal or event makeup service.

Gowree’s analytics also show website visitor numbers reaching their highest recorded level, with a clear increase in May 2026 and a further peak in June. Alongside her growing social media presence, the website gives prospective clients a place to explore her work and take the next step. These channels work together, with the new website helping her present a clear, consistent message wherever people first discover her.

Matt is incredible. He did such an amazing job helping me with my rebrand (redesigning my logo, helping me come up with brand colours and fonts) as well as doing my website. He really hit the brief and understood what my vision and goals were for the business.

He delivered far beyond what I had even dreamed of for my website!! It exudes so much luxury and is exactly what I need to attract my ideal clientele.

He was very patient, listened to all my feedback and each time all feedback was acted upon promptly. I 100% recommend Matt for all of your branding/website needs. I will be telling everyone I know to go with him!

I truly couldn’t have asked for better service, a better logo or website.”

Beyond Launch

Ongoing care for the website

Gowree’s monthly Support Plan gives her continued help with the technical care of her website. I monitor it to help reduce security risks, respond to issues, apply software updates and check that the site continues working as expected. Daily cloud backups provide up to six months of rolling restore points.

I also review performance and accessibility, making reasonable improvements where needed. For a website with so much photography, ongoing attention to loading speed helps keep the portfolio practical to browse as well as visually engaging.

Graphic Design

A consistent experience from wedding fairs to wedding preparation

I extended the identity into business cards, promotional leaflets, price list leaflets and personalised skincare plan leaflets. Following the same brand guidelines connects these materials with the website, giving Gowree a recognisable presentation across different points of contact.

For her exhibition rollup banner, I designed the information to work at two distances. The logo, tagline and imagery attract attention from further away, while more detailed content gives people something to read when they approach. Placing the logo at the top helps keep her name visible above people in a crowded event space.

I also designed PDFs using Gowree’s supplied advice to help booked clients prepare for their makeup trial and wedding day. These carry the identity into the practical information clients receive after booking, supporting a consistent experience beyond the initial enquiry.

Instagram story icons completed the supporting materials, bringing the same visual identity into her social media presence.
